See All ReviewsGenerally, when a Salvadoran is traveling, they are always on the hunt for 'pupusas,' and this time was no exception. Here in Fort Walton Beach, I came across Sofia’s Food Truck, which offers traditional pupusas with that unique touch of 100% Salvadoran hands. The flavor was very good, especially the Queso con Loroco (cheese with loroco). Price: 3 for $10 or 1 for $4. Points to improve: The curtido (pickled cabbage) was too fresh; it was basically freshly shredded cabbage and you couldn't taste the vinegar yet. The tomato salsa was fine, but it could be thicker and use a bit more oregano.
Maybe I picked a bad day to stop by. The meat was seasoned, but it was far too tough to eat. The steak had no tenderness at all, and the chicken was dry, hard, and not fresh. The container holding the drinks had a strong, unpleasant smell, and the woman preparing the food seemed visibly uninterested. I fully support small businesses, but I will be taking a sabbatical from food trucks for a while.
Gave them 3 stars because every time I try to go they’re either closed or closed early. But the times I have gone the pupusas have been great! Repollo needs some work though.
